This book has been a great blessing to me. It immerses one into a period of history that is not well known, in which holding onto simple Scriptural truth was life-threatening. 2 Timothy 3:12 reads, “all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” It was inspiring to read of Marco's journey as the lights turned on in preparation for the climax of his life experience. Colossians 3:1-3 comes readily to mind. Those who appreciate the historical works of John Fox, J.H. Merle D'Aubigne, J. A. Wylie, and Johann Mosheim will appreciate this book.
The book inspires one to confess the name of Christ and correspondingly live a life that is Christlike. The word of God is sure. Truth never changes. Truth more precious than life. This is what I was impressed with.
